Are you in a ministry? ⛡️

Does Jesus come to you after you have “toiled all the night and have nothing”?

AND, when Jesus says,
⛡️ “…Launch out into the deep, and let down your netΒ«sΒ» [plural] for a draught” – do you then modify His request (because you have NOT listened for ‘the still small voice’ of the Holy Spirit) or because of unbelief you doubt the enormity of what God promises?

Instead – do you (& ALL of us) say, “at Thy word I will let down Β«the netΒ» [singular]”?

EVEN so, have you marveled how the LORD has blessed?

DO you EVER wonder, πŸ’πŸΌ
“If I had followed Jesus’ instructions to the letter –
how much more I would have today to bless others”? ☺️

FISHES 🐠 🐟 🐑
Fishes are symbolic of converts to Christ.

When Peter saw “a great multitude of fishes” in the one “net,” he was thinking,
“I could become a very wealthy and great man” πŸ‘³πŸ½πŸ’¬ πŸ’°
βœ…

BUT…
“their net brake”
This exposed the weakness of man’s tools to adequately care for the LORD’s “fishes”

Even SO, when we gather in with our efforts, which are not anointed and dedicated to the LORD β€” though we gather in abundance, our ship (like the trio’s ships) will begin “to sink” 🚣🏽 ⛡️

Will we like Peter then recognize our deficiency, “fall down at Jesus’ knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord”? πŸ’Έ

AND β€” will this surrender be done as we are “astonished, …at the draught of the fishes …taken” in… Or when the “net brake”? 🐟🐟🐟

OR,
Will we do so in acknowledgement that
β€’”self” must be sacrificed, πŸ”Ή1
β€’ all our resources dedicated to Christ and
β€’ a full surrender made, so that Jesus will say to us,

“Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men [& women]” of quality, 🎣
Who likewise have dedicated themselves to the LORD 🌹🌟🏁

“And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him”

βœ… my thoughts added

πŸ”Ή1 – even Jesus put “self” on the altar.
He gave us an example, when He said in John 5:30-31
“I can of Mine Own Self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and My judgment is just; because I seek not Mine Own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent Me. If I bear witness of Myself, My witness is not true” (“…the Father that dwelleth in Me, He doeth the works” – John 14:10)

Jesus relied 100% on His Father.
If He had relied upon His Own strength, then we could not follow His example.

We, like Jesus, must learn to rely on power from above
(Philippians 2:5-11)

πŸ”Ή2 –
Luke 5:11
“Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink. When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken: And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men. And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him”
