The Unseen Larger Path – is it God Who guides?
Even if we live selfishly,
God still is guiding our steps towards Him
We may think we have decided altogether our own path, And indeed, we may have gone down disastrous paths of our choosing, But it is God Who ultimately directs us on the road that leads back to Him…
Our free choice comes in when we make a decision to EITHER live for SELF, OR live FOR God — whatever path lays ahead, or obstacles encountered
We are NOT deciding The Larger Path… that’s God’s choice —
Though we ARE deciding how we live along the UNSEEN Path God Controls!
This may make some angry to say that they do not decide everything in their life.
Yet, God points us to the Path that has the best outcome from each choice we make,
Yes, we eat the fruit of our own doing….though,
We suffer NOT the FULL consequences of our own choices,
Because God holds back that which would completely destroy us,
For He allowed His Son to take those blows upon His body at the cross.
God withholds FULL consequences, and points to a better path from which to travel.
One that we would have chosen for ourselves, had we seen the “End from the Beginning” *
Each path chosen has a “fork” in the road, where an escape awaits us.
God points us towards the right path in mercy. Nevertheless,
Further down the road are other “forks”
FOR Paul said in Romans 3:
“…When we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the UNGODLY. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die… But God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet SINNERS, Christ died for us…..For if, when we were ENEMIES, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be SAVED by HIS life.
* Isaiah 46 has this to say:
“…I AM God, and there is none else; I AM God, and there is none like Me, Declaring the END from the BEGINNING, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure….yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it. Hearken unto Me, YE…that are FAR from righteousness: I bring near My righteousness; it shall NOT be far off, and My salvation shall NOT tarry…”
“All that has perplexed us in the providences of God will in the world to come, be made plain. The things hard to be understood will then find explanation. The mysteries of grace will unfold before us. Where our finite minds discovered only confusion and broken promises, we shall see the most perfect and beautiful harmony. We shall know that infinite love ordered the experiences that seemed most trying.” – “The Faith I Live By” p.64, EGWhite
