Confusing “Tongue” or “Prophesying” 101?

Confusing “Tongue” or “Prophesying” 101
“Unbelievers “ who are of another tongue (from a different country) are in need of hearing the gospel in their own language. This is the sole purpose of speaking in tongues — otherwise, the person who speaks in an unknown tongue is just lifting up himself, if there is no one there to “interpret” the words, who understands that language spoken (v.22,4).

Because, “except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.” (V.9).✔️

So what good is it to be speaking — for it shall be heard as just babbling and you might as well be “a barbarian,” lost and unable in “edifying the church.”

“Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me.” ( vs.11-12)

If you wish to edify and enlighten your church members, learn to “prophesy” (v.4).

Q: Sooo — you’re wondering, How do I “prophesy”?
A: Our King James Bible tells us how — in Revelation 19:10 we are told that “the Testimony of Jesus Christ is the Spirit of Prophecy.”

You read Jesus’ words (His ‘Testimony’) then connect those words with scripture in the Bible and this will reveal (or prophesy) what we many expect in the future… THAT Simple!

Connect the dots that Jesus has laid out in scripture and you will know the future in order to tell others what is coming — that is “PROPHESYING!” — Plain and Simple!

FOR GOD says in Psalm 138,
“THOU hast magnified THY WORD above all THY NAME.”

THE “WORD,” Jesus Christ “was made flesh, and dwelt among us.” (John 1:14)

GOD is Magnified, through Jesus Christ, as we “MAGNIFY” GOD’s “Word[s].”

✔️“Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that BELIEVE NOT (‘a Barbarian’-see v.11): but PROPHESYING serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.”

“He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.” (1 Corinthians 14:22, 4).
