📘Singing “the Blues”? 🎶
🔜(Are you a “brother [or sister] of LOW degree”?)🔙
Jesus was the youngest of His brothers — for they were His step-brothers from Joseph’s previous marriage. Joseph was a widower, who then married the teenage Mary, that she might have the energy to raise his children. (this practice is still pretty common today). Instead these rebellious children overwhelmed and belittled her and her son, Jesus, in an effort to control them.

The step-children continually questioned Mary’s discipline method (or seeming lack thereof when it came to Jesus—her good boy). They wished to take hold of Jesus to remove Him from the crowd, as hinted at in Matthew 12:46-50. Then the Jews, Jesus’ spiritual brothers (& sisters) said He was “mad”/crazy in John 10:20.

As well “His friends [who are closer than brothers] heard of it, [&] they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself.”

DOES this GRAB your attention?
His own Friends/Brethren said JESUS was “beside Himself,”
which means they thought He was NOT in His right MIND! (Mark 3:21).

ALSO, Jesus’ step-brothers were always egging Him on to do what they wanted and that He should listen to the teachers/Rabbis (the very ones trying to keep Him under their thumb).

(John 7:1-13 has a sad commentary on this —
some of the people even claimed He “deceived” them).

Yet, Jesus is our example and fits the description of a “brother of low degree” Who “is exalted” — whereas the “rich” rulers/teachers who accused Him day and night were “made low” just as James 1:9 says.

Though Jesus was “the brother of low degree,” that did not stop Him from pursuing the enemy of souls, even as did Asahel” (the youngest of 3 brothers in 2 Samuel 2.

FOR “Abner [Symbol of Lucifer] said again to Asahel [Symbol of Jesus], Turn thee aside from following me: wherefore should I smite thee to the ground?…

“Howbeit he [Asahel/Jesus] refused to turn aside: wherefore Abner [who like the Devil] with the hinder end [or Sharp TIP] of the spear smote him [Asahel/Jesus] under the fifth rib [Adam’s Rib for Woman & Church Symbol], that the spear came out behind him [as ‘finished’]; and he fell down there [✖️marks the spot], and died in the same place: and it came to pass, that as many [people/passers-by] as came to the place where Asahel [JESUS] fell down and died [they] stood still [to stare at Asahel/JESUS’ body]” to contemplate the situation and it’s importance, as well as grieve for their GREAT LOSS!

Eventually, we will be able to see the importance of Asahel’s death, just as ALL people WILL one day understood the importance of Jesus’ death, even as do many Christians.

We read later that “… they [his kin] took up Asahel, and buried him in the sepulchre of his father, which was in Bethlehem [the very place of JESUS’ Birth!].” (read 2 Samuel 2:22-25,32).💙
